I called canon and they told me that I had to join MY CANON. It was a bit confusing. No more free advice? Can someone put me on the right path? Of course it was an AI operator so she was NO help
Harry
Did you register the printer with them?
You may have a Canon account.......
I"ve called them before about it and there was no problem. I know I registered it. this time I get the AI operator and gives me some guff.

Did you try saying "agent" or "representative"?
Harry
Good Morning but you did not provide what type of printer issue that you are having.
Al
I was about to reconcile my checking acct. I downloaded my monthly report from the bank and attempted to print it. when I hit print a "code" number appeared. I believe it said 5200. but i'm not sure. it didn't stay lit very long. I no sooner saw it and it was gone. I've been playing with it since. At first it wouldn't do anything but then I turned it off and started it up again. This time it printed but it wasn't in black and was barely ledgible. It appears that now I have to pay for help with MY CANON from now on and I'll be damned if I can figure out how I'm supposed to do that.
Well
I would just try to do a simple print, try printing a Word doc, or something in notepad, and let us know if it prints. Another maybe reboot your PC just things to try. Another option maybe try updating the printer driver.
1. Reboot pc
1A. Address one issue at a time
2. Do a simple print test from Word or Notepad
3. You mentioned you power cycle the printer and no change
4. Try updating the printer driver
5. Try that and let me know what happens
6. Last resort, remove printer software reboot, and re-install printer software, this should be a last resort, try the steps above first.
Al
I updated the driver and that didn't help. I got it to print the reconcile info in my checking account but it's printing in a light tourquois, not black. the color tanks are all half full but it's difficult to we what the black tank is. It's all black and looks full when I pull the plug on it the ink is right at the top. I don't understand why it won't print in black
Hey Alvin. I believe I sold you one of my lenses.
Hello
Ok, cool, and sounds like it could be either an ink issue or an issue with the printer head, try doing a printer test, like see if your printer has the option to clean the printer head.
