I have a terrible time shooting chickadees. Just as they land and I get them in the viewfinder off they fly to another branch. Today I went to my backyard and saw a chickadee just sitting in my apple tree. I got a somewhat decent photo of it. Then another and then another started flying around and landing in the tree. It was then I noticed the attraction. They are building a next in the tree. I always thought birds were generally male and female starting a family but there were maybe 5-6 seemingly different birds flying in and out of the nest. What do I know, maybe starting an apartment complex or a group of condo units. Who knows. But I found myself walking closer and closer to the hole in the tree trying to get photos of the birds flying in and out. The chickadees would land in the tree about 5 feet from me. But out of over 1100 photos I, so far at least, ended up with about 12 photos I like of the chicadees and a couple of house finches who stopped by for a photo session. I will be going back out in a minute but
