I've looked at these for quite a while. I like the swings the best, but it's a technical reason. There seems to be more contrast in that image. The stadium has very little contrast. The closed hospital is very sad and that it has to be fenced off is even sadder!

I like #2 best and agree with one responder, silence and emptiness.
Not so fond of the color version.
And agree with another responder that the fence in #1 is a distraction

Linda...the excellent simplicity, starkness, geometry, and functionality of these images (and others you've) provoked my thoughts of the "Bauhaus" style.. Nice...

Excellent captures. I would not have thought an empty stadium or bland school façade would have been of interest but your tone and texture made them compelling.
