Been an interesting few years subscribing to UHH but its become far too vitriolic with members criticizing posts quite unhelpfully simply to boost their own over inflated egos. Suppose its only to be expected though in a country where children have the Constitutional Right to take guns to school to kill their teacher and other pupils! Yes and elect a criminal con merchant as President.

Keep well those who do not fit this profile.

Cheers JohnR

I believe in any situation the Franklin formula should be used -- take a sheet of paper, draw a line down the center, and in one column list all the negatives of the thing in question, and in the other list all the positives. I believe that while the UHH negative column will have its share of entries, the positive side will be much longer. There are smart, knowledgeable people on this forum who are willing to give their time to educate, encourage, and direct others, and to "throw out the baby with the bath water" is a disservice to those individuals. Should you choose to stay, I suggest you post some helpful commentary that is not (as you claim vitriolic) to help balance the scale.

I'm not sure why I and others are commenting on this post since if he is sincere about departing, he will never see our response.

Cool. This guy starts of bitching about our forum and our country, and naturally people bitch back at him.

You are NOT listening, you are READING. Why are you reading this "vitriol" if life's too short?

Making negative comments about ones political opponents does not mean one is "bitching about our country."

He was "bitching" about our forum (too vitriolic) and our country/constitution (a country where children have the Constitutional Right to take guns to school to kill their teacher and other pupils!")and political opponents (Yes and elect a criminal con merchant as President." The last is not only bitching, but specifically against admin. rules. If you don't consider that "bitching" your definition of it is different than it's normal usage.

I agree that political comments are out of line here and I have no problem with you characterizing his remarks as "bitching." The "children have the Constitutional Right to take guns to school to kill their teacher and other pupils" and "elect a criminal con merchant as President" are comments attacking a particular political faction, not an attack on the country.

Ah, I see we are in the Attic.

Trump is a con man and a criminal, and school shootings are happening, and students are often the perpetrators, and there are many who are arguing that there can be no restrictions on firearms, citing the Constitution in doing so. You may disagree with those positions but they represent expressions of opposition to your politics, not opposition to the country. Argue for your positions openly and honestly if you can. Suggesting that those who oppose you are therefore opposing the country is lazy and dishonest.

UHH has changed its format and not for the better.....It was interesting at one time, now just another media tool for people to attack others if not their same agenda. Go back to where you wear and leave well enough alone. If not broken, please refrain from attempting to repair and fix it. Thank you.....

Don't you mean people may have changed the format?
The "format" looks the same to me.

Agree completely. Recently, I suggested to a member planning to visit NYC to be careful as the city has become dangerous. I received a message from the Admin about political comments. Telling a fellow hogger that the place he is planning to visit is dangerous constitutes a political comment?

NYC is way down the list of dangerous places to visit in this country.

"Politics" comes from a Greek word meaning "people," so anything can be political.

Why not stick around, otherwise we will miss your wit and knowledge.
Don't let the bullies win, stay and call them out, bullies generally hid behind their insecurities by being idiots.

I'll call them on the carpet.

I suppose it's impossible for some to simply ignore them.

I just don't see here what you are describing. But, then, I don't subscribe to The Attic. Maybe that's your problem.
