I wouldn’t buy a Cosmograph Daytona Anywhere (15K - Fugeddaboudit !!)! Nor ANY Rolex Anything (Ditto)!

A watch is simply a tool to tell time - and maybe to add a little bling to your wrist (Daytona doesn't even measure up). Many have noticed with favorable comment regarding my TEMU and Stauer watches and have been amazed when learning the cost. Most of my mechanical watches lose less than 1 minute per week despite costing less than $60. The most expensive was one from Stauer - on sale at $129 - then down to $79 after a $50 coupon.
So - I guess it simply depends on where you want to spend your money: on something that shows you value your money versus something that simply shows you have money to burn.

People collect and place value on different things regardless of whether they have money to burn. I am happy that you find value and enjoy your watch collection. I was just a middle class working stiff (with really not a lot of money to burn) who enjoys fine time pieces. If you saw this watch I purchased in Greece and saw the detail of the skeletal back and 47mm gold case maybe you could see some difference, maybe not. Again, I am not attempting to be pretentious any more than many on this website who have 15-20 thousand tied up in photo gear when a point and shoot will do the job.

Nice collectible - - do you ever wear it? And does anyone recognize it for what it is?

Not very often it mostly lives in an auto winder and I’m sure most look at me and think it’s some sort of knock off but watch guys can recognize. Honestly, I have a few nicer watches that I would wear more but since I started wearing an Apple Ultra 2 I don’t need my phone, have navigation great for mountain biking and hiking, all my phone apps and health and fitness monitoring so I find it indispensable.

It looks just like a battery that also tells the time.

As unconcievable as it is in this day and time, I actually have a watch that doesn't need a battery.

Not only that it needs a relatively large battery to run I think the battery won't last for a day.

I can't imagine how much this watch might cost.
