The wage gap is finally been inverted -- thanks to Bidenomics, employees are getting a better share of the company profits. It may not yet be a fair wage compared to the profits, but a step in the right direction and to make up for the prior losses. McDonald's built the anticipated increase into prices 6 months ago and are doing it again. When McDonald's loses customers, they may course correct. Blame the greedy ones, not the workers and minimum wage efforts.

How else is that gap going to be made up when employers have been shown to use trump tax breaks for stock buy backs and dividends to shareholders and not to employees and they haven't seen fit to share their record profits in increased wages? It wasn't until Union activities and minimum wage laws came into play for employers to finally understand that they couldn't get workers was because of pay. It's all there in the Biden presidential plan that he is accomplishing.

Top graph is visually misleading, even though the inflation rate has fallen wages never caught up.

Conceptually, I'm not against minimum wage laws. Unfortunately, many of them seem to be generated simply to satisfy the "living wage" banter. What IS a living wage? That depends on who you ask. Someone making $20 an hour who works full time in Burger King would make something like $42,000 per year before taxes. That's above the FPL for a single person. But is that enough in a city like NYC? Probably not. So, the question keeps getting asked. I read somewhere where CA Senator Barbara Lee (who in the interests of fully disclosure I consider as being someone who doesn't have all her oars in the water) suggested the minimum wage should be six figures. That, of course, is ridiculous. Increases in the minimum wage have unintended consequences and the fast-food workers in CA and probably other states are seeing the results.

I don't agree with the living wage concept either. I agree with "what the market requires", but companies are loathe to move to that and even resort to illegal means to avoid it and hire kids and illegals to maximize their profits. I believe regs are necessary to keep employers honest. To date, setting higher minimum wage rates over the years has never caused an economic emergency.

I don’t like any minimum wages sets. Wages are a contract between employer and employee with no governmental interference.

But that said what does Biden or any president have to do with California or any state law.
Why isn’t this called newsomomics ? The person in the story is goofy

It's called Bidenomics because an administration official said so. Did you bother to read the article?

I missed that you said that. Thanks for the clarification. In any case, evidently this Biden administration official would like us to think he does.
