You don’t imagine maybe the digest change had any effect on all of the sections (that I read at least) slowly diminishing since then do you?

Nobody was complaining about them. I think the suggestion was that he have his own section.

But, if we want to go back to beating that poor horse, if someone leaves UHH because of a format change (which Admin revised, returning the option to separate sections), to me that doesn't suggest there was a particularly strong attachment
Sadly, the volunteer-managed sections were in decline long before the digest revision.

Actually, I couldn’t resist “poking the bear” (notice my smile at the end). But seriously, the reason I mention it is I have seen several posts recently where members have stated that they spend less time on the site since the change - I know I do. My point was that UHH seems to be steadily declining in web visits (and interesting new topics) since about the time of the change. Related or. coincidence? Something is occurring, and it isn’t positive. What do you think is driving the downward trend? I would note that newspapers and magazines have always had a headline cover page before the internal sections. Think they might know something about attracting initial attention to bring the reader in for more in-depth coverage?
Honestly, if I could do one positive thing to change the site, it would be to fix the useless search function.

It does, but the effect is not the same. In the old format (like a newspaper or magazine), there were top topics from many of the sections (I selected), which would often cause me to go to that section to view. Now, I start with the main section from the menu, work my way down through the posts, and then move to the next section in the list. By the time I get to buy-sell-trade, I rarely am interested enough to check the special sections as I would have in the old style. I know you never used the digest so this seems like a no op to you, but for me and others, it HAS had a negative effect on our time viewing the forum, especially the special sections.
