I would like to shoot the eclipse live with my Canon R7 wired to a monitor. If this will not work my next choice would be wired to a computer. I have the dark lens and cable. What set up should I use for my R7?
Thanks

You have several choices. Using an HDMI cable, you can hook the HDMI out jack on the R7 to a monitor with an HDMI input. Alternately, download Canon Connect SW and wirelessly connect to any device with wifi (such as a laptop, tablet or phone). You can also use a USB cable with the appropriate connectors, but the WiFi is much more convenient, and no one can trip over the cable pulling the camera and/or computer to the ground. In all cases, you’ll likelyneed to disable the time out on the camera and make sure to get the wifi configured and working well in advance.
There are inexpensive 4-5" hdmi video displays which may require external power or a proprietary battery, video guys use them all the time. Shooting Tethered to a laptop is also possible and you can have your editor available.
You do not say id you are shooting still, video, or time-lapse.
What you want to do is certainly possible and some experimentation would help a lot, even just to be sure of correct cables , power, & settings.....
You do know this thing is Tomorrow Right? Have you tried live view?
Good Luck
