We need to see a better economy in Latin America to prevent people from looking to us for help. In a February 20 earnings call, Walmart president and CEO Doug McMillon implied that prices were going to go down and said: “In food, prices are lower than a year ago in places like eggs, apples, and deli snacks, but higher in other places like asparagus and blackberries. Dry grocery and consumables categories, like paper goods and cleaning supplies, are up mid-single digits versus last year and high teens versus two years ago. Private brand penetration is up in many of the countries where we operate, including the United States.”

The statement reiterates what McMillon put forth in November of last year, stating that the big box chain could be entering a “deflationary environment” — “We may see dry grocery and consumables start to deflate in the coming weeks and months,” McMillion said.

Why would anyone read the Mueller Report? Most of it said absolutely nothing. The rest was a political hit job. That hasn't changed.

That is pretty much like what is going on in the NY courts now. The whole bank loan fiasco is and continues to be standard practice with that industry. The borrower submits their assets and assigns some value of (x) dollars to it. The bank (lender), doing due diligence, do their own evaluations and offer (or not) a loan for some value (y) with interest and terms.

For people buying homes the first time, this is why you need 10's of thousands of dollars as part of the sale, aka skin in the game.
