Here are a few more images from a fascinating exhibition of glass art from Dale Chihuly, in Seattle Washington.

As in my first post, I have strived to capture the color, light and designs just as I saw them.
My philosophy is quite simple. If it's not broken, don't fix it. I find it uniquely challenging to shoot/post process someone else's artistic creations.
It was a wonderful day with family and my camera, that I won't soon forget.

Special thanks to my wife, mom and her boyfriend for having patience,(to let me shoot/slow them down) as we visited and enjoyed this unique display of artistic vision, talent, remarkable colors and mastering fire to create such works of art!!

Great set of images of Dale Chihuly works. I've been following him for about 35 years and am continually amazed by his art. Is the purple column you called Rock Candy made of glass. It's very similar in appearance to a Chihuly work outside the Polymer Science Bldg at the University of Akron but that one's made out of plastic.

I really like the last one and you commented on the difficulty of assembly. It can only have been made by building it from bottom to top piece by piece. I saw a video of Chihuly making and assembling a similar outdoor piece. It was located in a small town somewhere in the Midwest and was next to a small river. He set up his studio a couple of hundred yards up stream and just tossed each individual piece into the stream and fished them out when they arrived at the site. if anything got broken or lost, they just made another one. Guess he believes that you've got to break few eggs if you're to make an omelet.

Man, this guy is good, extremely creative, and the shear amount of his work out there is amazing in it's own right. My wife and I were amazed by his exhibit in the Indianapolis Children's Muesum and I've been kind of following him ever since seeing it. Amazing quality, color and creativity, and as already mentioned he is very productive. I don't guess this guy even takes time to sleep and is always blowing glass. Anyway, impressive to say the very least. I simply love his stuff and it's very photogenic as well. Thanks for sharing!

I have to believe that purple column is glass. Oddly enough my wife and I went to this exhibit last Friday. Sunday evening there happened to be a show about him creating some massive pieces and when his guys broke anything, they just made another. No grumbling, or being upset in any way, they all accepted that it wasn't the right piece at that time and started over. We were at a hotel in Canada with limited tv choices so that was neat timing!
