Trump’s February legal bill $5.6 million “ of other people’s money “ and he still owes one lawyer $560,000.

Because so many of us believe that the charges are either cooked up or laws that have never been used over the years since being passed and are now used just because of the politics involved.

And of course the NY judge set a new record for "excessive fines". Especially since not one person or company that did business with Trump complained and they all made money. Only the AG and the Judge seem to have a problem. Well, a bunch of people like you who have no vested interest, but hate Trump, are chiming in.

In the past, I didn't like Trump, mainly because of his style. But as President, he did a lot of good for the country in foreign relations and the economy. I think my dislike ended partly because I tend to pop off at the mouth also. In reaction to 34 years of having to be so precise in the classroom I started popping off as a release of stress.

And as to his style, I have gotten to love it when he does it to some of the stuffed shirts in the government and "Holier than thou!" foreign leaders. I especially like it when he used $$$ to stick it to them. "You don't like the US? Well you sure like our dollars when we buy X from you. Maybe the US should buy X from someone else or make it ourselves and then undercut your prices in the international marketplace. How would you like that?"
That way at least got some of them now dislike us in a quieter way.

The charges are not "cooked up," nor is it true that they haven't been used over the years. Nor did the judge "set a record for excessive fines." You need to find more objective news sources. And fraud is fraud regardless of whether anyone is hurt, just like drunk driving is drunk driving regardless of whether anybody gets hurt. (As an aside, if you were a banker, would you be OK with loan applicants submitting fraudulent applications to you?) Trump's biggist positive accomplishment was quickly getting the covid vaccine approved, but he nonetheless badly handled the pandemic by not encouraging the vaccine's use, downplaying the pandemic's seriousness and promoting voodoo cures. His foreign policy was awful. He worshiped Putin, Kim Jong, Bolsonaro, and other world tyrants, alienated our European allies, signed a terrible Afghanistan exit agreement with the Taliban without even consulting with the Afghan government, and tore up an agreement to stop Iran from building nukes without replacing it with anything at all. Biden's economy by virtually any metric is now better than Trump's ever was-a soaring stock market, record unemployment, inflation getting under control, wages increasing.. Trump is all bluster, with no substance. He never gave us a health care system "better than Canada's" which he promised to do (he never even proposed anything); he never built a wall with Mexico's money. And then there's the encouragement he gave to the far right crazies, and don't get me started about his attempts to overthrow a free and fair election, or the Trump crime family, or the tax cuts that have helped to explode the deficit.

Says a true believer in the Party "defending our democracy" as they send out attorneys all over the country in an attempt to keep RFK off the ballots of several states. So says the Party of Woodrow Wilson which is currently working to insulate the bureaucracy from the will of the voters and the executive authority of the president....

Your party is nothing more than a nasty pack of elite communist leaning socialists.

The platforms of the two major parties have changed a lot since Woodrow Wilson was President, especially since Democrat Lyndon Johnson pushed civil rights legislation through Congress in the 1960s and in the process flipping the deep south from Democrat to Republican. If Woodrow Wilson were alive today he would be a member of the Republican Party, and if you and I were alive when Wilson was President I would have been a Republican and you would have been a Democrat.

I wonder what LBJ would have thought of his “Great Society” (wow, sounds like a MAGA slogan) legislation today? Do you think he, unlike the Democratic machines running most of our major cities for decades, would recognize that the well intentioned programs and policies spawned by legislation and executive edicts of his presidency are 60 year old failed models still in use. Ideas that have thrown 13 trillion at the was on poverty and by most metrics perpetuated cultural poverty and cycles of dependency. We have more crime, out of wedlock births, divisiveness, greater economic divide, less personal accountability, a mindset supported by politicians and mainstream media that success is an impossibility due to all the barriers that society presents, etc. etc.

You don't seem to know much about Wilson, long before becoming president as a University professor he wrote books about progressivism, you refer to his prejudice against blacks, that he was but he is also one of the fathers of progressivism, he rejected the limitations placed on the federal government by our country's constitution and advocated for the administrative state which would be run by "experts" highly educated elitists who would guide our country to their nirvana, he wrote widely circulated books on the issue. The same goals of progressivism today, the same type of elitists snobs who discount the desires of those whose calloused hands were instrumental in building this country. There is a lot to be said for one's lived experience which to me is often more informative than years of college coursework.

Doesn't seem to me that Biden and his highly educated cabinet secretaries have gotten much right in the last three years.

No complaints, no losses, all banks still want to do business with him. Sounds cooked up to me.
I would expect a certain % to be fraudulent and more to just be exaggerated and count on my people to verify - or I would be firing them.
The law for the main charges has been on the books for years and never used. As to the fine, I saw an article stating that up to now the largest fine was aprx $250M and now with the reduction the fine still is #2 for largest.

A friend who is a law professor in the UC system told me there are so many laws, regulations etc. that almost every single one has another that contradicts it and with just a little thought ANYONE could be charged with many crimes including some they never heard of, let allow committed.

The rest of your stuff is something else and I don't feel like getting that bottomless quick sand.

LBJ was a political animal, democrats seem to forget that it was LBJ who fought against Eisenhower's efforts to pass civil rights legislation, it has also been somewhat widely reported that LBJ often referred to black people using the N word. LBJ was no American hero, and the democrat party is certainly not a party free of racism, it is the party of low expectations, when they see black communities they see people of lessor abilities, they seem content to leave them in blighted neighborhoods where crime and drugs rule the day, and they hate and disparage conservative blacks in a manner that is irrational, their racism is so ingrained that they can not accept that black folks could have ideas and a value system other than the one that the democrats have prescribed for them, which to me speaks of racism of the highest order.

It is the democrats destroying the legal system in their efforts to stop Trump, more of their authoritarian nature.
