I have an old Sony AR7 rather than the new hot rod spinning sensor model. I'll get one at some point. I've forgotten the Nikon body I had. It was a low end full frame. Also with a 200 600 zoom. My truck window got smashed in a parking lot in order to steal the camera bag.
Because of an insurance settlement bundle I took the opportunity to try Sony. I think I like the Sony better. Faster auto focus. But I'm not sure. I see no sharpness difference
I'm a retired programmer so I edit with Darktable and Gimp. RawTherapee is getting good
too.
Editing skills seem to matter a LOT more than camera brand choice.
