Interesting images. Could they be a graft? I think cacti lend themselves to that sort of thing. Were these in the wild or part of someone's landscaping?
I agree that it looks like an Organ Pipe cactus, or maybe a senita (or are they the same?)

Looks like new growth on a saguaro.
Nice looking image. I seen some beast of cactuses when I was in Arizona.

I meant that the spike balls are growing on areas of the cactus that have been damaged somehow, someway!
