I could have bought one in 1963 for $75 but my Dad didn't think it was a good idea.

Wow! That’s an amazing custom job! I googled 1950 Mercury and took a look around. Hard to see the transition! Thanks, Kim!

Nice image, Kim. I like all about this car except the flames The Mercurys and Hudson’s of that era really took to chopping and lowering as if they were designed for it.

WOW! No obvious door handles.

That's what I noticed right off. How does one get in?

My very first car. Worked all summer for New England Tel&Tel laying co-axial cable. By summers end I had saved $500.00 for a '51 Merc. We started a car club called The Drag Lynx. Everyone had a skill or knowledge of mechanics. and helped each other in customizing their cars. Great memories!

That is one very beautiful car. The contour, the subtle flames, and contrast of (what appears to me as) matt paint on the skirts. The wheels are well designed. I also love the the wide white walls. Gorgeous.

The chop-top, makes this vintage without competition. It was a fascinating design. My 36 5-Window's engine pooped... what else besides a 49/50 Merc engine fit right in. [well almost]
