I recently bought a 2TB USB hard drive to use for backup and transfer of files. It's thinner than a deck of cards and just slightly larger in the other directions, so shirt pocket size for at least some shirts. It's a Western Digital My Passport, $70 at a variety of sources. (A 4TB is just a bit over $100.) Came second day, same as Amazon Prime would have, but I got this one from B&H with their PayBoo card and got sales tax credited back.

This is a spinning disk, and while it writes faster than similar models in the past it's not as fast as a SSD would be. But a 2B WD My Passport SSD is $160, and since the duty cycle will be write occasionally/read occasionally, the old tech is good enough for my purposes. YMMV, of course.

I have large one drive on the computer at work. It's a pain. Whenever I save anything it goes to the cloud and I can't find it later. I am not sure where my files are. I did quick frame capture from a camera to setup the vision system and it kept saving the images to the clould and slowing down the capture.

It is easier if you set your folder so that files are always available on your PC. With this setting the files are still saved to the OneDrive cloud but also always on your PC hard drive so you know where they are and they are available even if no connection to the internet. I have many folders set like this but some I have like you where they don’t show on my machine and I need to open OneDrive in a browser to see those folders. I use them for things I don’t want cluttering up my machine but need to keep.
