I hope the topic police don't catch me - I'm putting a Dragonfly in the bird section ! ?
I have not gotten a Dragonfly in a few years now so when I saw the opportunity for one this morning I took it.
This was from a boardwalk so I could not get closer of my own free will .....so this was from at least ten feet. I believe this is a "Halloween Banner" ?
I decided to make this another good/amazing test for the Sony RX10m4 @ 600mm + 2X CIZ = 1200mm equiv, FOV, in bright sun, f4, ISO 100, hand held/braced, BIG crop.......
Thanks to ALL for stopping by and commenting ! ......Larry

That is a superlative, beautiful capture - knowing how fast they are and the coordination you need to get them 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Beauty shot, Larry! I've been taking a look at the RX10IV specs for when I get too old to carry the D850 & 200~500 zoom around! One complaint from reviewers is that it's difficult to use single spot focus. You don't seem to have that problem here! Maybe because there isn't a confusing background??

Thanks ! .....I haven't used single spot AF in a long time - if ever and never heard of this complaint !.....I did the Dragonfly with wide area because I was waiting for BIF's . Once I got it focused on the approx distance of the Dragonfly it locked on - there was a few feet distance to the back round. The AF is AMAZING and instantaneous .
Wow you did good on this one love it

I went to B&H to take a look at the specs. Looking through the comment section of reviews where the camera only got one or two stars (I always do that), there were complaints about spot focus. These were from around 2018 or so. Maybe someone didn't know what they were doing. Or maybe there have been improvements since then.
It sounds like it's a GREAT camera with a LOT of good reviews. And Ken Rockwell sounded "over the moon" about it!
You are really making that camera look good, Larry.
