Well it is for me anyway, this is only the second one I've ever seen.
A Spur Throated Locust...
Found it on our front door frame this morning.
I also added a pic of the only other one I've seen, about 20 months ago. You can clearly see the "spur" that gives it its name.
They are usually found in the north of Australia, not sure what this guy is doing way down here..?
This is a female, about 75-80mm in length. Males are quite a bit shorter, approx. 45mm.
The spur-throated locust (Austracris guttulosa) is a native Australian locust species in the family Acrididae and a significant agricultural pest.
