I guess it's me that don't have common sense that I never ask which I should buy. Common sense is to get concensus from fellow UHH's members.

But only if you highly value their opinion.

I shoot with Nikon and Olympus I have the OM1 version 1 and the Olympus Pen F. I seen pictures taken with the Olympus and I said to myself I got to have this camera. The pictures are incredible. Even though I shoot mainly with the Nikon I do use the Olympus an every chance I get. I’m not telling you what to get I am giving you my opinion I love Olympus and think it is one hell of a camera. And this morning I watched a video of the OM1 ver. II from the video there is not that much difference. My opinion.

The opinion that the most people have has the highest value. So you ask the question and see which answer is the most common. However, most of the time you really don't have a most common answer. The answers are all over the place and non stand out. So most times such a question ended up in a lot of answers but really none.

Why would you want to obsolete your good Nikon lenses??

Unless you work from a tripod (I do) your loss of quality from hand holding, not using a cable release, or no lens shade far exceeds any quality you will gain from a newer lens

Ihave almost never used a tripod since I changed to mirrorless with modern image stabilization. Nikon or Oly. Used to never shoot without one. Don't miss them either, unless I'm doing something that requires stability for very long exposures. There is no loss of image quality, either, in most instances, certainly no more than when I did use tripods.

This is a massively loaded question. I am a dedicated Oly systems guy. You need to, on your own, examine the differences. Size, IBIS, cost etc etc etc. I could write a small book on it and can’t do it just now.

What I can say is that I don’t think I’d buy into Oly at this time unless you have a very specific need. If you don’t travel, need smaller equipment and all that stick with what you have.

If you do decide to jump to the dark side I suggest you consider used gear. There’s plenty on Mu43.com. Also very good photography there as well.

Post a shot of your best shot that you would like to be improved and think new equipment would make a difference and see what people think. You may find your shots are well received.
On the other hand the D7100 is a ten year old design; but I am not sure what an upgrade will get you. I know on my D500 and the D850 good glass makes all the difference.

Oly...

That's so cute.

Would a Mamiya be a Mami or a Miya?

Kinda proves that there is no answer to be had ... from outside yourself, anywho.
