Another vote for Godox. Solid reliable performance at a reasonable price. The v860ii and ad200 are both great choices that will fire all day on a single battery. I like the Flashpoint R2 pro markii remote better than the Godox because of the button layout, and I’m almost certain both are produced by Godox. Range for off camera flash is amazing and opens a whole new world of lighting options. I’ve been whole heartedly impressed with absolutely no regrets.

Thanks for the comments, if i do buy a new flash i think the godox will be on top on the list. I am shooting mostly wild and landscapes.as far as people the light is not a problem, i aiso have some very good glass, but would be nice to have if i neededit

I use Godox TT350 C ($84.90 at B&H) for my Canon R6. It's light, compact and strong enough for my low light photography. I also use Godox TT350 S (same price) for my Sony A7C. No complaints so far !

Check the R5 manual, your 580EX probably will work with it
The newer 600 series are very nice if you want to buy a flash The RT models use Canon's Radio trigger for both on and off camera flash. But if your 580 ex is compatible, and you do not do a lot of flash photography just use it.

Please use the Quote Reply so we know who and what you are referring to.

I have an R5 and all my flashes work with it. Canon 580EX II & 430EX (yes, the 430EX is quite old and the original), Yongnuo 565EXII & 568EXII all work today (although I had to clean the battery contacts in both the Yongnuo flashes to get them to power up). I have not tried my old Vivitar 283 on it. I kept it for old time's sake.
