As much as I would like congress to address issues on their own merit, you demonstrate your lack of understanding of legislation in our country with your holding hostage comments as riders and pork barreling are nothing new in our legislative process. Additionally, your point regarding employers is well taken but last time I checked cartel member, gangbangers and drug dealers are not interested in picking lettuce in the Imperial Valley.

I would suggest that the idea anything done to stop illegal immigrants would also stop cartel members, gangbangers and drug dealers is extremely naive ! Tattoo their foreheads, however, will have more effect.

If you want to stop illegal border crossing then prosecute those employing them. That will solve 98% of this problem. Oh wait, that will force up the price of vegetables, cheap housekeeping for the rich people etc.
And the nastiness going on by tying Ukraine to illegal bordering crossings is sheer outright political blackmail (the sort of activity that starts off dictatorships). This sort of activity screws the whole idea of democracy. Both these issues should be dealt with separately. The USA is down the dunny now (a dunny is what you Americans call "the restroom").
I can't tell you anything other than point out things that you might not be capable of accepting. The reason why the US doesn't tell us how to run our country is because we are too small to bother with (until China starts spreading but then you will find a way to blackmail democracy again) and the the US is becoming too insular AGAIN.
If you want the US to be run by the biggest crook alive, with the largest ego and the most selfish nature (ie no empathy) then carry on. No names of course. At least the Roman Empire took longer to die than the US will if this goes ahead. My personal opinion only.

What can I say. If Trump said the sky is blue you say it was evidence of an incipient dictatorship. Rage on.

Exactly, although Derek Chauvin got exactly what he deserved, the so called “Ferguson effect” has put the brakes on aggressive, proactive policing and diminished the ranks of departments around the country leaving our streets less safe.

Sad but true.

Ask Florida about the labor shortages of unskilled persons, specifically those in farming and the building trades.

Correct. EVerify is the only answer. Fines should be $10,000 per day, per illegal alien levied on the employer. The problem would be solved within weeks.

About as much as you might support the heavily gerrymandered districts in DEM controlled states and cities.

You know, all those places where the voters who believe in the Constitution and the concepts of law-and-order and a self-sufficient society do not have an equitable voice in choosing their elected officials . . . .

" ... the voters who believe in the Constitution and the concepts of law-and-order ... " Do you mean Trump and his beloved 'hostages'?

Well, actually I was thinking more of the “hostages to reason” promoted by DJoe(*) Biden and his administration.

— DJoe’s handling the exit from Afghanistan, leaving hundreds of millions of arms and materials currently being deployed AGAINST U.S. interests and personnel.
— DJoe’s non-control of the continuing influx of Illegal Aliens,
— DJoe’s attempts to “buy” votes of numerous (largely-liberal) student loan borrowers,
— DJoe’s mishandling of the economy to the point where large portions of the population cannot afford housing, clothing or decent habitation or food.
— DJoe’s ‘boasting’ of a “vibrant economy” and an inflation rate of ~3 - 4%, when that is the INCREASE Percentage. The actual rate is STILL approximately 6 to 8 percent MORE than when DJoe took office.

(*) DJoe = Dumb Joe. Or Demented Joe. Or Damn Joe.

And only the liberal socialist-democrats have the mental vacuity to believe things are BETTER for citizens since DJoe took office.

Although the actions of the rioters on 06 JAN was disgusting, disgraceful and despicable, it did NOT succeed in preventing the verification of the election. Delayed it — yes.

My reaction to the entire scene? I was disappointed the defenders did not shoot a whole bunch of the mob. A few M4’s rifles or M249 squad-automatic guns would have stopped the rioting asshole buttheads.

Modern tattoo-removal techniques would make that concept a ‘non-starter’.

The ultimate solution might be “tattooing” with a .22, 9mm, .40, or .45 projectile to the medulla.

For those who really want to earn a living, there are plenty of job listings which need to be filled, and the unemployment rate is down near the lowest it's been in a good long time.

Since President Biden was sworn into office, I'm making a whole lot more money than I've ever made, I've bought a condo, I don't have any credit card debt which I can't easily pay off monthly, and I have a substantial amount of money in the bank.

So yes things are a whole lot better for me since President Biden was sworn into office.

While trump was in office, my finances were tight to precarious. But with each new contract assignment I was placed in, there was an increase in my pay rate. How did I survive? By tightening my belt when it cane to spending money, and only buying the essentials.

If the trump cult is having trouble affording essentials, maybe they should stop sending trump their rent and food money.

Well rooty-toot-toot for you. Being a DJoe Biden sycophant has showered you with socialistic-derived benefits. Congratulations. I would suspect hard work and persistence would have aided you similarly pre-Biden.

For those on a FIXED Social Security and disability income, the story is quite different. Prices for all basic commodities and goods and services have skyrocketed. Purchasing power has decreased radically.

Biden’s disinformation propaganda machine’s claim of a three-percent-something inflation rate is BOGUS MANURE! The three percent claim is actually a three percent INCREASE atop an inflation-rate approaching nine percent over the three preceding years of his presidency.

Unless you are the benefactor of the 86,000 new federal jobs created last year (driven by IRS, Veterans Affairs and the Post Office) I am curious how you attribute you new found wealth to Biden and what do you attribute you lack of financial success during the Trump administration.

Who do you think pays for the cost of theft from stores here in the U.S.? It's passed on to paying consumers. Same thing, except the government is involved with your problem.
