Hold my beer. Biden will take California, they’d elect a squid if it had a D behind its name. You’ve proved the value of the Electoral College.

To answer the second bit first - I guess we are lucky in that we don't have a physical boundary like you guys do. Plus we don't have an economy that is as cheap as yours is because we have don't have cheap labour. What we do have is a society that lets in rich people who buy up land for themselves thus depriving NZers of said land. Most of these people happen to be Americans so what do they think of the situation in their own country that they want a bolt hole for themselves and families ? We NZers hate this happening.
The first bit is also untrue because the USA has just spent the last 40 years doing nothing about the unwelcome visitors. Some of these were Republican leaders. Now all of a sudden a situation which has lasted 40 years is being used to blackmail democracy. Your speaker has effectively said that whatever is done about illegal immigration he won't support it because his potential new leader won't let him until the elections.
If Ukraine goes under it will be because of the combined effort of 2 men in the US. Personal gain against democracy. I and a whole lot of other people around the world will consider the US as ancient history. A shame really. Personal gain against democracy - sounds, and looks, a whole lot like a dictatorship to me. You know, the thing that can't happen in your country.
This has nothing to do with illegal immigration - it is outright blackmail against democracy.
This is my last entry on this subtract as it is like arguing with a priest - you cannot convince somebody who doesn't want to be convinced. Somebody who "believes".

You appear to be incapable of comprehending the ultimate FAIRNESS of the Electoral College (EC) system. Without the EC, elections would be decided by about seven states: California, Texas, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Ohio.

The balance of the entire nation would have essentially NO VOICE IN THE ELECTION!

Certainly not a fair or equitable assesssment of the wishes and concerns of the balance of the nation.

Do you support the heavily gerrymandered districts in GOP controlled states where the voters don't have an equitable voice in their elected officials, or the laws passed in those states?

Look no further than cult leader, trump, for the person who's mission it is to turn the United States into an Autocracy or a Dictatorship!

Let's start with his philosophy that he's entitled to absolute immunity!

Don’t worry, Biden is fixing that. Just wait to see what the next census reveals as you don’t have to be a citizen (voter) to change the lines.

Don’t exxagerate, finish his thought. He said he and all Presidents are entitled to absolute immunity from criminal charges tied to conduct falling within his official duties. SCOTUS will hear the case and if they agree they will probably refine the conduct or duties that have immunity. It will obviously fall short of absolute.

Wow. Are you the priest or those who disagree with you. You’ve kind of made my point on a number of issues. The desire to keep the country for your countrymen. The difference is that you vet the people who immigrate. Due to the policies of the current administration that isn’t done. Some have nefarious goals but we have no way to know which ones they are. Say it out loud Laken Reilly. We have cheap labor because some would like to under pay the immigrants for their own gain. They do this through migrant labor in some cases. New Zealanders hate what immigrants are doing. Ok, we have a point of agreement. We are a country of immigrants like you. We had a functioning system that became porous but even presidents Clinton and Obama spoke out against the wave at the border. Look at the statistics. By following the existing law under the last administration illegal crossings plummeted. This admin has violated the law and incentivizes bad behavior. Since the present admin refuses to follow the law the house won’t agree to spend money we don’t have on protecting the border of Ukraine. The house sent HR 2 to the senate their leader won’t even allow it to leave his desk and be voted upon. Perhaps your country is a capitalist economy like ours but you don’t call it a dictatorship. Perhaps you would benefit by hitting the dictionary and review the word dictator. What some call curious is how the political class comes in to Congress middle class and leave rich. The last guy started rich and never took a dime of his salary, donating it all back. Maybe it’s insider trading like Pelosi or maybe because they saved a lot by having a good dental insurance plan. We do have one dissimilarity. You tell us how to change our government from afar. We don’t tell you how to run yours.

Nobody is saying unlimited immunity. The concept of immunity has limitations. Immunity has been the subject of litigation for centuries. The general rule is that it does not apply to activities outside of the scope of your duties. A concept lost on many but not on the policemen involved in the George Floyd incident. They contemplate it every day.

A shred of evidence was my request, not your hatred. That’s not evidence of anything but that you hate the previous president.

Exactly, although Derek Chauvin got exactly what he deserved, the so called “Ferguson effect” has put the brakes on aggressive, proactive policing and diminished the ranks of departments around the country leaving our streets less safe.

Can't resist.
If you want to stop illegal border crossing then prosecute those employing them. That will solve 98% of this problem. Oh wait, that will force up the price of vegetables, cheap housekeeping for the rich people etc.
And the nastiness going on by tying Ukraine to illegal bordering crossings is sheer outright political blackmail (the sort of activity that starts off dictatorships). This sort of activity screws the whole idea of democracy. Both these issues should be dealt with separately. The USA is down the dunny now (a dunny is what you Americans call "the restroom").
I can't tell you anything other than point out things that you might not be capable of accepting. The reason why the US doesn't tell us how to run our country is because we are too small to bother with (until China starts spreading but then you will find a way to blackmail democracy again) and the the US is becoming too insular AGAIN.
If you want the US to be run by the biggest crook alive, with the largest ego and the most selfish nature (ie no empathy) then carry on. No names of course. At least the Roman Empire took longer to die than the US will if this goes ahead. My personal opinion only.

As much as I would like congress to address issues on their own merit, you demonstrate your lack of understanding of legislation in our country with your holding hostage comments as riders and pork barreling are nothing new in our legislative process. Additionally, your point regarding employers is well taken but last time I checked cartel member, gangbangers and drug dealers are not interested in picking lettuce in the Imperial Valley.
