“Never argue with an idiot they’ll drag you down to their level and beat you through experience.” – Mark Twain

Recognizing a fool is a bold step toward saving yourself an argument with such people and walking away.
It does good to remember:
*Fools have a fixed mindset
*They always bring up stupid logic to support their theory
*Despite what you mention or say, they will always try to bring you down to their playing field
*They believe their ways to be correct, and they are the only ways that will work for anyone
*They are never open to new ideas
*They will go to any level to prove their point

Sounds like some of our politicians!

I rarely join the Chit-Chat discussions, but the 3 reasons the earth is flat (plus the 'bonus' no carbonated oceans) really caused a chuckle.

The UHH team here might have missed a 'real' discussion of the robot replacement pigeons in the UK.

https://pigeonsarentreal.co.uk/about/

After this short taste, ask yourself, have you ever, in any context, ever seen a baby pigeon? You begin to realize, they really are all government-operated drones ....

The story of pigeons, state surveillance, and the oppression of the British people is a long and intertwined tale. Buckle up.

... No one in Britain born anytime since 1990 has ever seen a baby pigeon, yet they still believe these creatures are conceived and born naturally.

It’s difficult to blame the unsuspecting public, as government propaganda has worked hard to prevent the truth from getting out...

Love it! Great retort. (Carbonation and flat). I love British humour, it's based on education and gentle put-downs. As always, you need 3 people for a good joke.

The teller, the one who understands it, and the one that has no clue. I fear that the colonies have a preponderance of no clueists.

And some have no clue how to use “quote reply” so we know who you’re responding to.

Well actually this dovetails nicely with the topic in applying the saying 'Birds of a feather...yep. suffer the same weather '.
Loosely interpreted.

I think the MAIN reason you see the Flat Earth, moon landing hoax, and many other Youtube videos is money. There are a few people who really believe these but I suspect most of the videos are for generating clicks and therefore money.

Each click on the video sends the one who posts it a little paycheck from the advertisers. That is also why you see so many videos on "free energy" or perpetual motion machines. There are dozens of videos claiming that you can make your own energy using an electric motor and a generator. These machines have been proven over and over to be false but they keep posting them because people keep clicking on them. These are much like the "secret" carburetor myth that has circulated for decades that allows one to get hundreds of miles per gallon but the auto industry has kept them hidden away from the general public. Other popular clickable subjects include the Karens, people failing at something, or getting arrested and making total fools of themselves.

These "scammers" have learned that the general public will click on anything that offers them something free, controversial, or titillating.

All these are just a few of the less desirable "gifts" of social media and the internet.

Last year on here in gave a name to a photo of a witch. One would think I had committed the unpardonable sin. I was threatened with expulsion. I meant it as a joke and thought most would get it. Actually most probably did get it. Folks on the left have difficulty laughing, especially at themselves.

What was the name I gave that photo? The first sylable is the same as an upward climb. The second sylable, when the wind blows the place is always "airy."

Another fantastical primitive explanation. Promoting mystical beings (gods) and their actions and movements.

Folks on the left laugh a lot. You just miss it because they’re laughing at you.

Why did you make this inane statement in a thread about the idiocy of flat earth?

It was a response to an actual inane statement that somebody else made. That’s what people do in forums.

I'm surprised that there are so many YouTube channels defending the moon landing and the fact that the earth is a sphere. It seems to me that paying attention to the deniers just gives them more publicity. On the other hand, those offering genuine evidence are accumulating views and making some money.

I belong to the Raleigh Astronomy Club here in central North Carolina. We have a member who, just for fun, argues that the Earth is flat. He has a PHD in Astrophysics and actually knows better. I have had people tell me that, if you challenge him, he can almost have you believing that the Earth IS flat.

All you need to do is confuse your opponent and you can win any argument. I will always believe that the Moon landing actually took place. That is, until someone finds the landing photo set in Area 51.
