I have seen this product advertised and read the revues. I do not trust the reviews any one here tried it?

Is it just a memory stick?
Or does it do something special.
If it grabs all your images on a drive, I won't use them as many will ALSO copy any picture used by programs, anywhere on the drive, not just "yours".

On one hand I wanna say "never fall for stuff claiming to do things that never needed doing in the first place".

But OTOH that would be like saying "dont buy any camera made in the last several years".

My photos are contained in my backups, don't need a special stick for them.
If needed, I can just copy my "Photos" folder to another "drive" (as in plain memory stick).
(Unless there may be total disorganization of the photo storage structure and photos are all over the place.)

Items called 'photo stick' have been advertised for several years with great specs. Many of them are scams. They fool your computer into thinking that they can store lots of data, where in reality they have a puny capacity, and when that is reached they overwrite the data you put in previously.

I would avoid such things. A good thumb drive or external disk should be reasonably priced and cost effective. Get a well known brand name.

One of the things they tout is "it looks through my computer and finds all the photos and backs them up"

YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are not the only one that generates photos and stores them on your computer. Any software you install will introduce a number of images that it will use for various purposes. Buttons for you to click on. Headers for pages. Advertising for similar software. Etc.

If you want to back up YOUR photos you need two things: (1) you need to know where you store your photos. You should have a common folder that holds your photos, probably with subfolders to organize things. This is something you have to have baked into your workflow. (2) you need to have a workflow that defines your backup procedures, and follow that workflow continually. A good backup will include Duplication, Distribution, and Maintenance.

It grabs photos from Motorola and others photos and downloads it on the stick. and eliminates duplicates.
