Imagine if Da Vinci had the apostles sitting on both sides of the table.
Never know about Leonardo. He might have seen the last supper.
I thought it was "All you guys who want your picture taken, sit on this side of the table."
The waiter is hiding Mary.
Alternative caption:
"I don't care who didn't have soup, it's $20 a head!"
The name of the picture is the reason I will always call it "Supper". I never heard it called "The Last Dinner".

Did someone call it "The Last Dinner?"

That's what I hate about sharing a bill with a group. I have a sandwich and water, and they have three course meal with several drinks. 🤣

Not that I know of. What I mean is, everyone calls the evening meal "Dinner" now. When I was young (and in the south) we called it supper.
Vanderbilt's book of etiquette says dinner is after 8PM. I still call the evening meal supper unless it's after 8PM.
No sense at all in having to be proper, but that's how it will be for me.
With you 100%!
Being a somewhat AR person, only slightly obsessed with details, I looked up the difference. Merriam-Webster establishes dinner as "the principal meal of the day." Supper, on the other hand, has three definitions:
- The evening meal when dinner is taken at mid-day.
- A light meal served late in the evening.
- An evening social especially for raising funds. (think: a church supper or social supper).
So, in view of the latter, maybe my $20 a person wasn't that far out.

That would be a disciple - neither Mary was there, apparently.

Not to be confused with the last Diner . . . .
As long as dinner/supper is easy to prepare and it tastes good, I'm happy. Healthy Choice, 4:33 in the microwave.
I made chili last night, and there's enough left over for tonight.
