I have used Lightroom for many years, it is software that is an integral part of my toolkit. LRC in the Creative Cloud provides me the tools to enhance images [critical because at times I have no idea of the lighting on a location].

The Davenport Projex is a provider of official photography services for events at St. Joseph A.M.E. Church in Durham, North Carolina. My wife and I are most appreciative of the national perspective coming from St. Joseph. The Pastor [and my fraternity brother] Bro. Dr. Jonathan Augustine, is also the National Chaplin for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

Last week during Black History Month [their HBCU Sunday] - brought the 28th National President and CEO of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Elsie Cooke-Holmes, to St. Joseph and Durham.

Equipment:
Hasselblad X2D / Hasselblad 45mm F4
Sony a9 / Sony-Zeiss 16-35mm F4
Sony a7III / Sony 70-200mm F2.8

Any other event photographers using the AI Denoise tool in Lightroom?

Beautiful results, loaded with energy IMHO, the red outfits really contributed to the energetic vibes of the shot (my favorite color) ❤️❤️❤️

I have been retired from event photography for about 7 years now. The only thing I do now is an occasional family event.

I got Topaz DeNoise maybe 3 years ago and have used it quite a bit. My events were largely indoors, so lighting was not always ideal and there was always some motion so I was using high ISO a lot. That lead to noise levels above what I would like, but I could get acceptable shots from most of my photos using standard LR noise reduction. But after I got Topaz DeNoise (used as a LR plugin) the number of acceptable shots increased. In fact I went back and improved quite a few shots from a decade or more ago.

It's not magic, but it makes things look good. I also used Topaz Sharpen occasionally. That does work but I find it sometimes gives results that don't look quite right. I usually limit the amount of sharpening it does. On occasion I get artifacts that look like image elements our of place. As with anything, trying to push it too much gives weird results.

But I do find the Topaz plug-ins to be useful.

I have used Topaz DeNoise AI for several years, and rely on it in my workflow, especially for choral choir concerts in poorly lit concert halls/churches.

When Adobe added AI Denoise to LRC I tried it, found it's results similar to Topaz, but the amount of time required to process images in LRC were greater than 5 minutes/image.

Topaz processing times are about a minute/image, so I have gone back to Topaz at least until I upgrade to a higher-powered GPU/CPU processor.

My processing times between Topaz Photo AI and Lightroom Classic Denoise AI are about the same and a lot less than 5 minutes. I'm not sure but I think it depends on the GPU you have.

Yes I believe you are correct. The slowness is caused by my underpowered GPU.

The PP seems to be just right but "samples" in the title led me to expect seeing "before-and-after" examples of that PP.

What wonderful pics!

While I do not use Topaz DeNoise AI in Lightroom I suggest you look at your settings for your program. This helped me greatly decrease my processing speeds for DeNoiseAI.
The Graphics Card adjustment for Topaz DeNoise AI: Under "File" (Top Left Corner of the program) select "Preferences", then "Application", "AI Processor" and select either "Auto, CPU, or (the named) Graphics Card".
Then just below that, under "Allowed Memory Consumption", select "High", as this is usually overlooked and should speed up the processing speed.
If your computer is borderline capable, I also recommend that you Close Down ALL Open Programs, and do a "Re-Start" of your computer to clear the RAM. Then open Only what is required.
