The situation may be very different things to different people.
A dead fin whale washed up on a beach on the West coast.
Sounds like the officials are going to let it be left there....at least for now, I guess.

After what happened out there in 1970, I wonder if they will give this idea a cold shoulder if it becomes necessary to do some disposal.

It's a systemic failure caused by the last few decades. It's the same thing that results in 'homeless tent cities' and 'street persons'.

It's quite the interesting, maybe mixed-emotions, potential tutorial material that can span several generations.

The news here in Portland has covered it quite extensively. I think they are still dissecting it and will allow the ocean to do it's thing in the next storm.

This is reminiscent of The Great Crash at Crush, which was, somebody's idea to run two steam engines together at full speed and crash them together. This occurred in Crush, TX. 40,000 people attended the event. The trains met head on at 45mph each. Pieces were jetisoned at high speed, killing two and injuring six. The account is well worth reading.

Wow! That was quite a 'spectacle' I am sure! With very unexpected results.

Back when newspapers were really newspapers the Dallas Morning News did a story about it in their Sunday magazine. One of those stories you don't forget.

I did read this one did not stay put like the whale in the1970 incident. Tide and currents moved it a few miles farther up the coast.

Haven't read anything about work being done to disect it, though.
