Totally different context.
A median itself is a single point, it has no "quantity" associated with it.

The median IQ is some number…say 100 such that mathematically 50% are higher and lower or more accurately the number higher and lower are equal. however…when talking bout population some will have the median IQ and the number higher and lower will be equal…but neither will be 50% of the population…unless you ignore the number with the median IQ…this is an example of where the mathematical definition falls apart a little.

No this post should stay right where it is so the rest of us are forewarned to stay away from "the attic" section of this forum. We have enough stress without reading those posts.

Yes, and 50% of the population whose IQ is not average is ABOVE average as well. So?

“50%” is the HALFWAY point between nothing (zero %) and a maximum (100%). Half would be above that point, half would be above.

There is something scary about seeing that people at the low end of the AVERAGE IQ range are just above "borderline mental disability"... 😳
