Surely you know Art as I have mentioned it numerous times and you could look it up yourself, murders by use of a knife outnumber those murders committed by rifles of all types and that includes the so called assault type rifles too.
Tell us then what you on the Left plan to do about those murderers/violent crime perpetrators who use knives to commit violent crimes. Will you outlaw knives of all types? How will that work out? Here is a hint. It ain't gonna work well.

The Left Wing idea of outlawing assault type rifles is about as stupid as taking away my vehicle because a number of people drive while intoxicated. Of course those who actually drive while intoxicated don't give a damn and will do as they choose anyway. Same with criminals. Taking away my firearms has no effect on criminals except they laugh their asses off at the idiotic attempts of the Left to take away my firearms. I have personally spoken to maximum security inmates both male and female about gun control and the effect it has on criminal behavior. The overall comment(s) by violent inmates is for you to do whatever you like. They just don't give a shit. They are prison inmates. They commit violent crimes for a living. That is what they do. Some/many murder people just for fun to see what it feels like to take a human life. They laugh at you thinking taking my firearms will somehow affect them in the slightest. They don't usually buy firearms, they steal them by the dozens on occasion by breaking into armories, sporting goods stores and so on. But some of our mass killers have purchased their firearms completely legally and going through all the hoops forced on us by the government. Yup, passed the background check too. Yet sometime after that they got pissed off enough to kill someone. Many get pissed of in a Road Rage condition and then kill a number of people. Remember the Christmas parade, remember in Canada where a driver killed a number of people. In Santa Barbara, CA back in the 1970's a woman divorcing her husband was purposely run over and killed while jogging by her husband driving a car as the murder weapon. Taking guns/outlawing some guns does not work and yet you on the Left insist on doing the very same stupid thing thinking it will work this time.

Isn't that sort of like you Left Wingers pushing for Socialism in America knowing it has never once worked in any other society?

Of course you know the aim of the Left is to do away with the 2nd Amendment. That amendment has nothing at all to do with hunting as the Left like to tell us. How many bullets do you need to kill a deer? Do you need 30, they ask. It is only common sense that people have and can carry firearms for self protection. As you well know the 2nd Amendment is for We the People to be able to stand up to a tyrannical government much like the Biden Administration is heading; a government who blames parents for wanting to have a say in their children's education as parents have had that right since America was founded. It is not up to the State to dictate what children learn but parents to have a say in their education without being called Domestic Terrorists. It isn't for a tyrannical government to investigate the Catholic Church and deem the church people as Domestic Terrorists. That thought process is against the Constitution and against the wishes of We the People. Yet the corrupt Biden administration does exactly that. The 2nd Amendment was placed in the Constitution as a check against that tyranny.

In my opinion the Left does not care about school shootings and violent crime. If it did there would be increased penalties against violent offenders such as those illegal aliens who beat up the NYC police officers. In their case there was no punishment nor will there likely ever be any punishment. The Left is against enforcing laws against violent crime. To make matters worse the Left is against We the People protecting ourselves. The Left cares about CONTROLLING the rest of us.

I am well aware of the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the other amendments - I did over 120 hours of continuation classes on them after I started teaching.
I taught US & World History, Government, Geography etc. from Spring 1973 (student teaching) until June 2007 when I retired from Garfield High School (the movie S="Stand and Deliver" school) due to health and the fact I had already reached the maximum limit of credits for my pension. My wife is a Surgical RN and spent 6 months talking me into retirement (I had planned to teach until I was 70). One day in February 2007 I was on my way to work when I had to pull to the margin of the freeway and spend 5 minutes barfing, so when I walked into the office to sign in I walked up to the Principal and said, "I just decided to retire at the end of the semester." He shook my hand, grinned and said, "It is about time, I know the stress was making you ill a lot." Then he told the office manager to put a retirement packet in my mailbox that day. During the morning break I went by the office and picked it up, I turned it back in after lunch.
And by the end of the day my stress was already down, and I felt better. I told all my students the next class day, and a bunch of them formed a retirement party and potluck for finals week committee. The girl that led the plot told me, "Don't even mention parties not being allowed during class time. We know you aren't coming back just to put us in detention. You are having a retirement party!" So I did, an all day potluck pig out with the members of the committee phoning their classes for attendance from my room phone and even some teachers showing up for some of the goodies.

Then the last day of school the committee and a few friends came back to my room when school ended at lunch, finished off the leftover cookies and cake and packed and loaded all my stuff into my car. The last time I visited the school several years later to get some information from my records all of those kids were back on campus as teachers themselves.

Today I often still miss the interaction with students and other teachers. Nothing else, just the interaction. Certainly not the up at 4:30AM todrive 50 miles then drive 50 miles home in the worst part of afternoon "rush hour".

"It's the semi-autos stupid!" Tight control of who qualifies to legally own semi-auto firepower is a common sense first step. That leaves plenty of awesome weapons for ... "bagging bad guys with guns' and no one's 2nd gets stepped on.
