Good Steampunk Movie

You probably know what the term "steampunk" means. If not, take a look at "Mortal Engines" on Prime. It takes place about a thousand years in the future, after a war using quantum weapons made a mess of civilization. The sets and machines are amazing. It's all CGI, of course, but that in itself is amazing, like the dinosaurs in the Jurassic movies.

Jerry!

Another movie with a "steampunk/dieselpunk" vibe is "A League of Extraordinary Gentlemen." See this link for a synopsis:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_League_of_Extraordinary_Gentlemen_(film)

It's an adventure/action movie starring Sean Connery in his last film before retiring.

From Wikipedia: "...the film features prominent pastiche and crossover themes[5] set in the late 19th century. It features an assortment of fictional literary characters appropriate to the period who act as Victorian era superheroes. It draws on the works of Jules Verne, H. G. Wells, Bram Stoker, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, H. Rider Haggard, Ian Fleming, Herman Melville, Oscar Wilde, Robert Louis Stevenson, Edgar Allan Poe, Gaston Leroux, and Mark Twain, albeit all adapted for the film."

Be well! Ed

IMBd ranks "The Prestige" as the top steam punker and for good reasons. It is a great flick that I guarantee you will watch more than once. It is truly clever, with twists, so be sure to pay attention.

Judging by the over 150,000 posts Jerry has made on about as many interesting topics, I think Jerry has shown us he has quite a full life. How do you stand in comparison?

I have had two successful careers before retirement, beginning as a military aviator and finishing as a corporate executive of a very large company. I have three children, 12 grandchildren, completed two Master's degrees and edited three books. Real success is not measured by posting a large number of random thoughts on this Website.

Since you asked me, how do you compare in real success?

You have been busy. Too bad you didn't learn much about interpersonal relationships.

You are welcome to your opinion, but I noticed that you did not do me the courtesy of answering my question.
