I came across this on a website last night, and I ordered these.  Drop a tablet into a gallon of water, and you have a gallon of windshield washer fluid for about $0.08.  Naturally, it will freeze if the temperature drops below 32°.  I've read that adding eight ounces of isopropyl alcohol will keep it from freezing.  I'll test that before I try it.  Some sites recommend adding dish liquid to the mixture.  I tried that many years ago, and it gummed-up the nozzles.

Don't use vinegar either, will damage nozzles. It did mine.

A few years ago I attended the 'Great American Truck Show' in Dallas. One of the show's exhibitors was giving away something like that. A few drops in your washer tank and the spray would be more effective to clean your windshield.

It was horrible - streaked, left bubbles all over. I ended up flushing out my washer tank.

I bought a liter of 99% isopropryl alcohol to soak my DMM. After soaking it looks fine so I save it perhaps I use it for windshield washer.

Did you soak the internals or just the case?

Short answer just the internals and not the case.

My DMM had a problem. When it is set to measure resistance and you don't plug in the test leads or having them plugged in but not touching anything it should display OL (which means overload as the resistance is over 600 megaohms), however mine would display something around 240 megaohms in this condition. There is no need to measure higher than say 100 megaohms or so, so I left it in that condition for a long time. Then someone in an electronic forum said there is somehow moisture gets into it and cause what they cause PCB leakage and the remedy is to soak the main circuit board in alcohol for 24 hours. So I removed the internals from the case, removed the LCD display and soak the rest in alcohol for a day. Dry it for a few hours in front of a fan. It fixed the problem. So in fact the pure (I only have 99% but they recommend as pure as possible) alcohol drives out the moisture.
