Nice images. I'm a native St.Louisian. The older sections have great masonry structures.

Some fabulous shooting, Jack, and I really love those first two

In the 4600-acre wildlife area where I get a lot of bird shots in great weather, there a variety of smaller factories that were abandoned post-WWII. They're dilapidated but so picturesque! I want to get shots, but I would have to drive way back on some nearly abandoned roads and just wander around. But these days, that is a really iffy proposition

Thank you Caribou
I have lived and worked in or near St.louis all my life and gone to and photographed places day and night that most have never seen, but Sharon and I haven't been in the "city " for longer than I can remember and have to plans to do so.

That building was somewhere near 14th and St.louis Ave. I just did a google earth search and every intersection that is shaped like it is now a vacant lot.
I worked the summer of 2008 in the suburbs of Chicago , Grayslake, Racine, Madison and other towns, and wouldn't go out at night by myself and in the daytime I didn't feel comfortable working on School buses in fenced lots with a teem of 10 members.
I remember a newly acquired " forest" area on the road to Grayslake that looked promising until I drove about 50 ft, down one of the roads,I turned around and hauled ass!!

I don't blame you for wanting to stay out of the city. It has some great architecture that's falling down from neglect and the lawlessness makes it dangerous. I used to take my grandson into the city on photographic expeditions but it began to get too risky.
