A new one just started on Apple +. It's called "Masters Of The Air". It's about the 8TH Army Air Corp and the B17 crews. Special place in my heart since my dad was a B17 pilot during WWII flying out of Bassingborne England. 91ST Bomb Group. Same producers and directors as " Band Of Brothers" and " The Pacific".

Thanks. I don’t subscribe to Apple TV.

My uncle flew 33 misions as a radioman. The only story he ever told was about coming back across the channel their plane spotted a downed American pilot. They circled him and the pilot would have my uncle radio information about the downed pilots position and condition until he was picked up. The pilot of the B17 receive a medal for rescuing the downed pilot. My uncle did not.

Is that a repeat, or is it a new series with the same name? I saw the original - very good.

EDITED: Yes, it's the same excellent series. The red-headed guy, Damian Lewis, is English, but he does a good American accent.

My dad flew 30 missions. That's an interesting story. I'm sure the downed pilot was extremely grateful. A downed pilot didn't last all that long in the channel. Hypothermia.

If you like that, also produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, watch the Pacific, which is also on Netflix.

Apple is showing Masters of the Air about the 100th bomb group in WWII. Spielberg and Hanks produced. Austin Butler (Elvis) stars.
I loved the first episode. The spent $250-300 million to recreate everything. Whoever dies in an episode fight died that way in WWII. Any damage seen done to a plane is the exact damage that was done. You feel like you are observing the actual events as they took place. 77% died or were captured. But they kept flying.
