Link or not I actually watched Steve’s video last night. This one may be the best of the best. Even though I have never sought to photograph a BIF I follow Steve’s posts religiously. This one is long and detailed for my aged attention span so I saved the link and will watch is carefully several more times.

Summarizing his initial and best practice is if you didn’t nail the exposure and focus just throw the shot away. No amount of intelligence real or artificial can save it.

Any body else read past the title?

I have no interest in BIF, but photography is photography, and Steve provides very good info. I've bought several of his books. I get the occasional update to them.

Yes, cameras have come a long way since the 1960s. I don't hesitate to crank up the ISO.

Going down that trail of AI Denoise, we will not need a camera in the future. We will just ask AI to give us an image of such and such. Using AI technology on a photograph of say, a duck, will give you a duck shaped image but not a photograph of your duck.

In the future it might give you a live duck.

Well, I did that earlier...I don't think a lot of people have that on their watch lists.

Hey, AI, I just spent a week in London. Give me a hundred pictures of London, many with me included in them.

Steve Perry of Back Country Gallery is one of the foremost experts on wildlife photography in the world and, very reasonably, has humongous books and videos available using Nikon and Sony gear. He is well worth giving a shot. He is always spot-on. https://backcountrygallery.com

Imagine the cost to have one of his 400-page books printed. That's where digital beats paper.

I don't even think about iso anymore. Just set to auto and dial up what I want.

So does Google. Before I Bookmarked his site I went thru the Google rabbit hole several times. In fact I believe any name you Google will turn out to be a music star who has done whatever it takes to move their name to the top of searches.
