Several threads concern the Canon R7 with and without the RF 100-500L lenses.

Well here is a shot from a few days ago with the R7 + 100-500 self identifying as a near macro setup.
A bee on a flower.

R7, RF100-500 @ 500, f/11, 1/640, ISO800 hand held in sunshine at 5 feet single frame, no stacking

Capturing the image of a bee is not easy... they are skittish and zoom away. The angle of this shot is excellent, and the background is non-distracting. The diagonal upper left to lower right is good construction tho probably a stoke of luck. The color combination is excellent. A one in a thousand shot.

I sat there in a chair and did 65 frames of several bees. Then picked one I liked to work on. There are others pretty much just as good. I have had a lot of practice at bees and other insects using everything from a close focusing 150-600 with or without extender, down to a 65mm Macro.
