I know this has been asked several times in the past, but I am not finding any recent threads, and I know things can change quickly. What are the current recommendations for online photo printing labs for large prints. Also considering ideas like printing on metal or glass. Subject matter is landscapes.
I've been using "Printique" with good results. I think they are affiliated with Adorama.
I've lately used Pro Prints in Colorado for canvas prints. They do excellent work and pay close attention to the client's needs. They offer two types of canvas: One they call Canvas Pro, which is not actually on stretcher bars. To get stretched canvas, one must order "traditional canvas." It's more expensive, but is better quality.
For standard paper prints larger than I can print myself, I've used Replicolor in SLC. I like their work and have been well pleased with them. One uploads the digital file via their system, then give any special instructions. I've also called them when I think the instructions didn't look correct and they verified and changed them. They also process film!

Vivid Metal Prints in Salisbury, NC for metal...
Google 'giclee printing services' or 'high end inkjet printing' if you want the best.
If you're going larger than 30" on the narrow side, you want a vendor who uses pigment-based inkjet printers from Canon or Epson.
Avoid silver halide media for color... the dyes last 20-40 years before noticeable fading. Pigments last 150 to 400 years or more (as determined by Wilhelm Imaging Research).
Most better photo labs offer both silver halide (the cheap stuff) and giclée inkjet prints.

I've used both WHCC (White House Custom Color) as well as Blazing Editions (in RI) and have been happy with both. I see lots of folks who like Bay Photo. Best of luck.
