Thank you, Dave, for looking in on my new series, I am happy to hear that you enjoyed them all. They sure do take good care of their grounds, this particular garden is one of the most outstanding of all the castles.

This second part of my just started presentation series brings you three images from Paris, going from the obvious emblem of Paris to a few lesser known details. The timing of our spring trip was pretty much determined by the school vacations of our grand children and was thus quite early in the year, not the most conducive time for photography: particularly in Paris the weather gods were not showing us their usually more benevolent sides, thus the relative dearth of images from this stay. - Then we have a brief glance at a few of the more than 300 castles and numerous towns dotting the countryside along the Loire River, France's "Royalty Alley".

I promised in the introduction to keep my descriptions short and I will do so, but if you are interested to become more familiar with this fabulous valley, I invite you to click on the following link to Wikipedia, which provides a brief description of the valley as well as further links to some of the castles I am presenting: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loire_Valley

I love your architectural shots, Joe. The department store complex is like an architectural rendering. So glad to see you posting again.

Thank you Ellen - that Samaritaine department store building was so unexpected - it is pretty much in the center of Paris, and an area that we haven't been visiting that much when we stay over there, so it came as a real surprise - and I had to google to find out what happened to that place, which I know from the time 60 years ago when I lived there. It was basically THE department store that I would go to to buy things: conveniently located and a tad cheaper than the other big stores (remember at that time I was a poor étudiant that had to watch every franc).

Apparently, after having been a fixture in Paris since 1869, the place closed in 2005 - a fact I was blissfully unaware of, even though I spent plenty of time in Paris during those years - and then it reopened again in 2021, after an extensive renovation which included that undulating reflective facade, which I just loved as a photographer. If you or any other viewer are interested, here is a link to what happened with this store: https://www.parisunlocked.com/shopping-in-paris/re-opening-la-samaritaine-paris-department-store/

You sure do not disappoint Joe with this set. I don't think I can pick one favorite. Number 3 of the Samaritaine Department Store buildings is quite the shot. Number 8 is another favorite. Heck, so are the castle and and chateau images.

Thank you, Vince, for your kind input - I loved that totally unexpected curtain-facade of the Samaritaine with the endless and varied reflections, it was like being in a photographic candy store! And in the Loire valley, both the castles and the small-town historic ambience, like in #8, were just a delight to experience.
