Sounds like a good mix.
Do you have any concerns about safety with taking a lot of gear? Just curious.
I would maybe limit it to the 18-400 and converter.

All depends upon where you go.
Colombia in the Andes is pretty huge.

The Andes is pretty broad as there is a large part of Colombia in the Andes.
Having lived all over the country for many years and not knowing anything more than Andes I believe your choices of lenses will be absolutely excellent. Dump the 50mm unless you are totally enamored with it.
The 10-18mm will be great for villages and cities where spaces can be quite tight. The 18-400mm will be a great choice for your all the time on the camera lens and allow for fast reaction to amazing things happening there.
If there is space for the 150-600mm then by all means bring it along and leave the 1.4X converter home unless again you have space and really want to bring it. Tripod will be good if there is time and easily carried and totally out of your way as you walk, if you are walking.
Your son will be a great source of where to go and where not to due to anti government forces in control.
Colombia is amazingly diverse and beautiful and sounds like you are going about it the right way by an actual resident and not some canned tour. The campesino busses will be amazing and take you most anywhere you will want to go in cluding trains if desired.
Enjoy and have fun.

I am glad to know someone corrected the spelling: COLOMBIA!

Will be in the Andes. I have a Canon 70D will bring my Tamron 18-400 as my every day lens when hiking and sight seeing. I also have a Tamron 150-600 thinking about bringing that for when we are stationary at my sons house, great place for birding from his deck overlooking jungle. I have a 1.4 Tamron tele converter. Having a variety of other lenses ie. 50mm 1.8 and a 10-18. kand of course a travel tripod.
any sugestions from my Hoggers.

Since you will be stationary at your Son's house I would take everything, YOU NEVER KNOW, especially if this may be a once or twice in your life opportunity.
However, you may want to take special care shipping everything, it would be hard to take everything on the plane with you. Plus, personally I do not take much equipment with me when traveling.
But, after all, it is your trip and not mine, and I have no idea what is in your head. Take time to enjoy your son when you are there.

I'd take the 18-400, the 50, and maybe the extender.

Take it ALL - if you dare....the inconvenience

The 1.4X seems very crippling to me with the slow lenses you have ......an exercise in futility
I wonder if a travel tripod can handle the 150-600 reliably ?

If you are not working with NatGeo, my default suggestion for travel happiness is a Sony RX10 IV ( 24-600mm equiv) and /or RX100 VI/VII (24-200mm equiv).

Thank you for the input. I do take all to heart and see how it matches my upcoming trip. Last year I put a chair near the railing and focused at a point where the bsirds came and fed off the banana and plantain. What a feeding station,

we were there for 2 weeks last year and never a problem where we were. Most people kind of kept to themselves and we always got smiles. When walking around I never felt in any threat.

When I’m going on an extended trip, and staying with family, I pack every lens that will fit in my carry-on bag. Probably 7 or 8, Clothes go in the checked bag(s). So does a soft gadget bag. Camera (with lens) around my neck isn’t counted as luggage.

At my destination, every day the family will do different activities, and I pack an outfit in the soft gadget bag to suit the day’s activities. The rest stays in the house.

And some days it is just the camera and one lens, with the gadget bag and other gear staying at the house.

If you want to use a 600 mm lens with a tele-extender from your kid’s balcony, go for it. You don’t need to carry that around every day, though.

If I’m staying at motels, I worry about security. Not so when staying with family.

When hiking, don't forget the subjects at your own feet. Then again I don't know how high your interest is in small animals and plant parts, e.g., lizards, insects, flowers, but you might want some serious closeup focusing capability. Something that would let you completely fill the frame with a business card without any background showing should be good enough.
