On our recent trip to Ireland, I took more 3 star or higher keeper images than I have in a lifetime. I attribute this to the subject, not the photographer. This image of Hore Abbey, in Cashel Ireland, became the cover page of a calendar I made for my wife for Christmas after it was processed. I have included the SOOC NEF file along with a jpg.

When I first saw this photo I thought crop just highlighting the castle. I tried that but lost all the impact of the single home in this large open area.
I removed the modern fence and then moved Revet's copywriter signature to the left making it less distracting but still readable.

Here's mine in monochrome, courtesy of Photoshop and Silver Efex.
For better or worse I cropped down to what I thought was the essence of the photo.
.
Here's mine. Not sure I like it better, but some, maybe.
I liked including the countryside. Basically, I added some haze in the background, enlarged the castle, and cropped just a bit. Thanks for the fun image to play with.
