Somebody sent me the attached and said they got it from UHH. Was the correct answer posted?
Yes and it was 19. The expression is 4+3x5 because there are 4 paper rolls, table with 3 legs and 5 in the calculator.
The 3x5 must be done first because multiplication has precedence over addition.
Did they post how that answer was reached?

There was an answer but I consider it a trick question.
From the first line it's clear that the timer has value 2
from that it follows that the table has value 4
from that it follows that the paper rolls have value 5
The answer is 19
First of all, everything is addition until the last line where there is multiplication thrown in.
Also, there are only 4 paper rolls instead of 6 so the value is 4
Also the table has only 3 legs so the value is 3
Also, the timer is set to 5 instead of 2 so the value is 5
So 4+(3*5)=19

4+ (4x5) =24
If you look closely, the table in the last equation only has 3 legs, not 4

First of all, the rules were NEVER specified... i.e. PEMDAS or straight line. Straight line = 35. Pemdas ( even though no parenthesis. = 19. Mult. and Div. come before Add and Sub. in PEMDAS... Although Parens. should have been used.

ABSOLUTELY correct Beb... PEMDAS rules even though it was NOT specified.
Details, details, details. They trip me up every time. But I have company it seems.
35 I think you'll find is the correct answer.
4 rolls + (table) 3 legs x 5 on the digital display, makes 35 when I was at school?
