How is it incorrect? You Wi-Fi the images from your camera directly to your iPad or phone, or you use this card reader to to transfer the images from your phone to the iPAD. Or, slap an adapter onto the Nikon USB data cable, and transfer straight from camera to iPAD.

I want to copy photos from my Z8/Z7ii to my IPad. I believe a camera adapter is needed between the two. Is that correct? Suggestions for a good adapter?

Apple mades SD adapters that easlisy transfer photos to an iPad. You need to identify which model. Older ones use SD to lightening connectors and newer iPads use SD to USB-C interfaces. As to other cards, you will need to transfer them through your computer by using ICloud.

This device will be the easiest and quickest method of transferring your images to your iPAD.

The link you provided is incorrect. The Z8’s primary slot is for a CFExpress card, not SD, and without knowing what iPad model he has you have no idea whether it uses the standard Apple Lightning connector or a USB-C connector. As for WiFi, it can work but if he has a lot of images it could take hours with those 45mp images.

That is NOT the adapter you want. What kind of connector does your iPad use?

I would get the SD to lightening adapter from Apple. I have used if for years without an issue.

I don’t see any CFExpress adapters with a Lightning connector so you’d need a separate USB-C to Lightning cable. But this does CFExpress and SD cards.
So this:
CFexpress Type B Card Reader, USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gpbs, Compatible with CFexpress Type B Card/SD Memory Card, Dual-Slot Portable Aluminum CFexpress Card Adapter with USB C to USB C/USB A Cable https://a.co/d/9NDhUki

And this:
1ft 2Pack USB C to Lightning Cable Short, Power Delivery USB C iPhone Cable MFi Certified Braided Type C iPhone Charger Cord Fast Charging for iPhone 14 13 12 11 Pro Max XR XS X 8 Plus SE iPad-1 Foot https://a.co/d/3k51jgK

I went on-line, and it looks like he can get the proper card reader and a Lightning adapter, very cheap.

The Z should have SnapBridge. Check the manual. That should work. You should not need to “buy” anything.

If you don’t mind the time it takes to transfer those 45+ mp images.
