I didn't know that. I turned 80 last summer & just now updated my profile with birthday info.

Thank you to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday. My original post was partly “tongue-in-cheek” & partly because I didn’t know why I had not been listed (that query was answered). But, the responses really brightened my day. Again, thanks.

PS: Was just wondering how many with birthdays this near Christmas got one “big” present when their birthday was so close to Christmas? No complaint. Just curious.

It’s a good group to be in!! Thanks, and wishing you many more years of health and happiness. I have health issues like many in our age group, but thankfully not slowing me down that much. I think a good outlook on life helps. And having a good wife makes for a good life.

Hope my reply went through alright. Thought I hit the right buttons, but admin said there was a glitch in my reply. Anyway, great group to be in.

Have attempted a reply to your comment twice, but it appears not to have gone through. Admin says I had a glitch in “quote reply”. I tried a second time to no avail. Anyway; a great group to be in. Thanks for the post. Maybe admin will be able to absolve the glitch.

2 days before Christmas, the 23rd and my mother would just tell me to go pick one of the presents under the tree with my name on it for my birthday. I got a homemade cake, a homemade card and a birthday song. But as you say, I couldn’t complain. There were some of my friends at school who got next to zip at Christmas. Life was good, but money was tight.

Agree. And life was simpler then. Had a good time growing up without having a lot of money.
Grew up 7 miles from the border, but things were a lot quieter then. I think growing up then taught us a lot about living a life of being able to accept things as they came and make life work well. Oops; kinda of got philosophical there. Anyway; I always think “we didn’t get rich in money, but we got rich in experiences”.
