Happy New Year. I hope we all have an interesting 2024
I need a copy of Word and Powerpoint for Mac. On the web, I found a number of places that sell earlier versions of Microsoft Office, for example, for a very low price. "Shop Win & Office" sells the Office Home and Business 2021 for $49.99. Has anyone purchased and used something like this? Are they legit?
Do you need the full blown version? ($100/year)
Microsoft 365 Basic is $20/year.
We had Office 2003 until my wife needed the current version of Word to be compatible with where she worked (Covid work at home....).
She retired two years ago, we just kept <renewing> it.
Would Open Office work for you? It's free.

TechSpot. Office 2021 Lifetime license no subscription. I got it, I use it, works fine. Be careful when you order to select Mac or Windows as appropriate.

You need to make sure that if you buy a new computer you can install the software on the new computer.
I'm using office 2007 on my windows machine. I see a bunch of cheap options for office-mac on a certain auction site.
I use Office 2010 on all my computers except one. I paid $10 for it. It's a promotion from Microsoft to sell it cheap to the employees of my company. Now, it's a bit tricky to activate it if you need to install it on another computer. On the Lenovo laptop I have a copy of Office 2009 a very small suite. It only has Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
I got mine from Techspot here in the UK, all you get is a registration code then download it from Mircroslop,
no problems whatsoever.

I got one here in the U.K. and it didn't work properly. Think I paid about £25.00. Phoned up the vendor and they didn't want to know, we sold you a license no., you've got a license no., end of.
So I got in touch with the Microsoft helpdesk and eventually got transferred to a real person who controlled the PC. As I had made initial contact I wasn't to bothered. Took him about 25-30 minutes tweaking this and that and throughout he always asked first if there was anything on the screen I wanted to remove. But he did the job.
So I guess it's legit. I think I got a 2021 suite, but can't confirm. I've also bought a suite for Mrs. N's PC and a previous one for myself. The only 'problem' I've had is that if I use the page colour tools under the design tab I can't do a two colour graduated fill, it always starts from the middle and spreads out irrespective of what option I choose. If that's not going to bother you, go for it.
I bought mine through a licensed reseller on Groupon.

In most cases, these deals are for installation on one individual computer only. Purchaser will simply download Microsoft Office using a web link.

Just to emphasise what I meant in my answer above here's an illustration. If anyone knows how to fix this I'd like to know. It's happened on two resold licences I've bought, not sure about Mrs N's version as she doesn't use these features.

I use a Mac, and took a chance and bought the download version of Office for Mac 2021 a couple of years ago for like $69 from an online seller I didn’t know. It’s a full-fledged version and can be downloaded to a new computer.
