Is that picture a little bit framed too tight ??

The subject is good - but (IMOP) the rule of thirds does not work well here. I think it would be better simply cropping out most of the blank to the left, perhaps presenting a square or 4/3 picture. I would be interested in how this pic faired in the competition.
Few photographers seem to remember that rule of thirds works vertically as well as horizontally - in my experience especially when in 4/3 portrait format.

The image was well taken, technically, very sharp with a very nice OOF background providing excellent focus on the subject. There is excellent color contrast with the blue and gold colors of the flower, again excellently presenting the flower.
IMO, while using the rule of thirds, the image misses on another important aspect of composition, I.e. balance. In this image, there is nothing on the left side to balance the image with the subject on the right side. Lack of balance can be used to create tension or conflict in an image if that is what the artist is trying to create, However, I don’t feel creating tension was the OP’s intent in this image. The flower is in a peaceful setting and the negative space on the left side of the image feels to me like the subject was framed incorrectly in the image.
Additionally, negative space can be used to provide a space for someone to look into or a moving object some space to move into, but again, this image is lacking those types of elements, it’s just a static image.
Just my opinion.

"Rule of thirds" is more a guideline for me. Only other "rule" I keep in mind especially when shooting landscapes and seascapes, try NOT to use the horizon to split the image in half, and sometimes even that can be a challenge.
I agree with the cropping suggestions made; in my opinion there is too much dead space in this image.
The results will be at end of December

Me too... Most of the time.

I would say that the "rule of thirds" is a "rule of thumb" useful as a guide to composition when it suits best. I can think of several "rules of thumb" useful to remember when framing a subject. They don't all work together.
