NY Times: Earlier this year, mathematicians discovered a unique shape. Now do-it-yourselfer have found ingenious ways to put it to use.
If I recall correctly there is a wall that has been puzzling archeologist by its advanced construction (stone a few ton heavy, oddly shaped that fit perfectly and resistant to earthquakes... (I will have to find the article).
When I read the articles (not linked due to the chit-chat section) it immediately reminded it of this oddity...
