Last time I went, last January, we got one decent flyby with a dive and fish. Other than that a few flying too far away, about 20 just sitting on the rocks way over on the PA shore, and one just sitting in that tree, across the road behind us. Sat there for 4 hours. Wouldnβt budge. When it finally flew it dropped down on the other side of the tree and flew away behind the trees.
Unfortunately, that sometimes happens. The best bet is to check when there is a dam opening and go then, about to go very early.
