Last time I went, last January, we got one decent flyby with a dive and fish. Other than that a few flying too far away, about 20 just sitting on the rocks way over on the PA shore, and one just sitting in that tree, across the road behind us. Sat there for 4 hours. Wouldn’t budge. When it finally flew it dropped down on the other side of the tree and flew away behind the trees.

Unfortunately, that sometimes happens. The best bet is to check when there is a dam opening and go then, about to go very early.

Max, this year was the first time I ever was able to get some live shots of eagles near me. Unfortunately, the county prohibited parking withing 100 feet either side of the nest, and the road which went by it was about fifty feet from the tree where the nest was - making a very steep angle for the shot. The nest was like a giant cup, about fifty feet off the ground, so shots of the eagles in the nest were limited. When I DID see them, they were perched on the branches around the nest, mostly or partially hidden, which limited good shots. Nevertheless, it was quite an experience, but was yielding shots that were no way even close to your magnificent gems 🏆⭐🏆💛🏆

Thanks, joe. They can be challenging when they are up in the trees. The joy of taking the pictures at Conowingo is that they often come in over the river at a fairly low altitude so you can get some pretty good shots.
