Are you really from Tehran? I have a favorite memory of a visit in the early '70s before our countries decided to me upset with each other.

I'm not aware of any convertor that contains a focus motor. Other members may have different information. But I believe that you will need at least AF-S lenses (which have individual internal motors) to work including autofocus on any adaptor.

Maybe you need to get Sony lenses too? Or, go back in time and tell your past-self: don't do it.

Yes AF-S is a requirement to HOPE for AF. Variables involved are :
Lens model.
Camera model.
Adapter brand.
Firmware version.

Much experience tells me that Hope will be much more often rewarded when adapting Canon lenses than Nikon lenses to Sonys. Also, Fotodiox adapters are usually more successful than the Viltrox ... although the effect of the variables can reverse that.

Canon lenses almost never disappoint but Nikon lenses are a roll of the dice :-(

Take a look at https://www.monsteradapter.com/products/la-fe1-nikon-f-mount-lenses-to-sony-e-mount-cameras-adapter. It might offer a solution?

Read all the specs, and restrictions, and the mediocre reviews. I *live by* adapters, and my reading has not encouraged me to drop $350 on the Monster.

And by the way lots of Minolta A mount lenses by very attractive prices out there. W/C can be used by Sony adapters. any thought >?

I'm not a Nikon user but the LA-EAr (Sony A and Minolta AF to Sony FE) adapter has worked very well for me.

Checking the shift on my on-screen keyboard, I find that "r" = "4".

My stay was for about a week in Bandar Abbas in about 1973 or 1974. I have very fond memories of that visit. I still have a few favorite photos that I took with a Nikon using Kodachrome and Ektachrome.
