That looks like the one where I worked at 16. 15 cent hamburgers, 18 cent cheeseburgers. Coke and rootbeer the only drink choices, but the shake machine worked (unlike today). I made $1.10/hr.
Best part of the job was working Saturday mornings. Girls in bikinis stopping on their way to the beach. Usually had to lean in over the counter to be heard over the traffic.

Yeah, what's with the shake machine? Once or twice a year I'll pop through the drive-thru looking for a shake or a cone and every time..."sorry, but the machine is down".

Don't remember going to McDonalds when young. Sunday after church, my dad took all 6 of us boys & mom to Carrolls, they also charged 15 cents for burgers. My rather slender dad would order 16 hamburgers, 8 fries, 8 chocolate milkshakes, bring the whole works back to all of us waiting in our 1960 VW Beetle! Then, we'd drive the 80 miles to visit our grandparents on the farm.

At my granddaughter's insistence we ate at MacDonalds a month or two ago and it was a little over $40 for the three of us. If it were up to me, I'd never set foot in that place...ever.

You, I and millions of Americans feel the same way which is why fast food places like this are either closing or going to take-out only so they can get by with minimal, under-paid staff. For a few dollars more, you can go to a good Mom & Pop diner and get a home-cooked meal made from fresh ingredients plus you're supporting a local business. I say good riddance to McDonalds, Burger King, Sonic, etc.

I remember what a "big deal" it was back then. It was a special treat to go to "MacDonalds". Now, I have no desire to go there.

We may do McDonald's or Jack In The Box when we are traveling. More often if we are away from home we go to In-And-Out Burger. As far as I know they only have them in the far West, mainly California.

do you? Check out these prices. My,my, how times have changed. This is about when I recall the McDonald's in my home town opening. Yeah, with the '55 Chrysler and the '55 Chevy, it's right around '55 or '56.

And being from Cheshire, you may remember seeing the line of cars on the Berlin Turnpike when McDs first showed up there. You may also remember the 79cents per dozen at Dunkin’s …
Aw, the times they are changin’!.

I remember going to my first McDonald's as a kid. I think I was about 10 years old. I was with a Japanese family going on a camping trip to Big Bear. We were traveling in a big green 1965 Ford Station Wagon with wood paneled sides (I thought is was a cool car). We stopped at a new McDonald's just like this along the 405 Freeway in Sylmar, CA (A new McDonald's is in same location). All of us kids got the little hamburgers, frieds and a drink and climbed into the very back folding seats of the car. All the camping gear was on the roof. What a trip.First time to Big Bear camping with GIRLS and McDonald's food.

The next memory is the McDonald's opening in my hometown of Thousand Oaks. On opening day around the same time (1967) KNBC news from LA sent a small helicopter (Bell) which landed in the parking lot to shoot news footage and provide a new news celebrity. It was the rookie newscaster Kelly Lange. It was one of her first assignements in the LA News market.

McDonald's Memories and still loving those burgers.

In 1968 our journeyman pipefitter's wage was $5.00 per hour. When I retired at the end of 2017, our pipefitter's wage was $82.50 per hour with benefits.

Remember when you could sit down at a Pizza Hut and eat like a regular restaurant. I don't think they have any of those left.

I remember when you can get a burger cooked the way you want it. Medium rare not like the hockey pucks they give you now. That is because someone sued Jack-in- the-Box cause they got sick eating tainted meat that wasn't cooked properly. Now all fast food places over cook their burgers.
