do you? Check out these prices. My,my, how times have changed. This is about when I recall the McDonald's in my home town opening. Yeah, with the '55 Chrysler and the '55 Chevy, it's right around '55 or '56.

Wow, that makes me feel so YOUNG (not old). By the time I remembered anything about McDonald's it was probably the mid-sixties and the sign read "Over 2 Billion Served", and the prices were far higher than 15 cents. That is a cool picture of one of the old style locations. I've been to many of those and the new giant ones in many places in California.

I don't remember when I first saw a McDonalds. We had a local burger place called Jerry's. They had 19 cent cheese burgers, 10 cent fries and no inside seating.

We used to go to that McD's every once in awhile, but we mostly went to "Henry's" becuz it was closer and the burgers were about 12 cents I think.

I remember going up to the cabin on a Friday night and dad would stop in at McDonalds for our supper. He could feed 2 children, wife, himself and a dog for less than $2.00 a meal. Now it would cost you $30.00 or more to feed 4 people and a dog.

I remember 15 cents. And yet we thought of it as a luxury for special occasions!

I remember going to that one in Des Plaines, IL. and watching thru a window how they used a machine with an abrasive coating peel potatoes. They made them fresh every day and were the best fries.

I remember what a "big deal" it was back then. It was a special treat to go to "MacDonalds". Now, I have no desire to go there.

We had "Deci's". Even better than Mickey D's.

At my granddaughter's insistence we ate at MacDonalds a month or two ago and it was a little over $40 for the three of us. If it were up to me, I'd never set foot in that place...ever.

Yeah, and the salaries were equally low.

That looks like the one where I worked at 16. 15 cent hamburgers, 18 cent cheeseburgers. Coke and rootbeer the only drink choices, but the shake machine worked (unlike today). I made $1.10/hr.
Best part of the job was working Saturday mornings. Girls in bikinis stopping on their way to the beach. Usually had to lean in over the counter to be heard over the traffic.
