Shot these on 11/18/23 at Terra Nova Equestrian Center in Myakka City Florida. This appears to be a top notch equestrian facility.

Nice job Don. Just a thought maybe next time shoot a few with the horse coming at you. Maybe you couldn't get to a spot so you could.

Great work Don..
Thanks Jules, appreciate your praise. This was my first attempt shooting an event like this. Did not know really what to expect. You could get very close to the action. Brought my 70-300mm lens but did not use it. Shot all with my 18-200mm lens.

If I may give some tips ... I shoot horse shows for a living. I like to put but my Auto Focus mode in One Shot (canon words sorry). Then half press on the top poll, getting focus for that area. Then recompose up to where the horse and rider will be, when the horses' knees are at their highest is when you press all the way.
I find if I use Servo (or multi shot) the camera may lose focus of the horse.
That is just my way... one thing I have learned from many horse show photographers is that we all do it differently.
Your photos are really pretty - (only giving tips because I was desperate for tips when I started.)
